Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for mitigating credit risk and optimizing financial performance?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Analyst to join our team in
Sierra Leone. In this critical role, you will play a key part in safeguarding
the company from potential credit losses while driving insightful analysis and
decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit reviews and prepare comprehensive credit proposals for local and international vendors.
- Analyze financial data and market trends to identify potential credit opportunities and risks.
- Monitor compliance with established credit policies and limits, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly credit exposure reports to senior management.
- Support the management and mitigation of credit risks through tools such as credit insurance.
- Assist in the development and review of credit risk-related policies and procedures.
- Perform due diligence (KYC) on counterparties, including suppliers, customers, warehouses, and shipping companies.
Qualifications And Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in credit risk management, ideally within a trading house or banking environment.
- Solid understanding of commodity business and transaction processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
