Job Description Summary

The GE Vernova Global Transportation Safety Leader is responsible for defining the corporate program work processes, standards, and practices within our GE Vernova management system that we apply to all GE Vernova businesses across the globe. The Leader must work with internal and external stakeholders to operationalize program requirements, develop capabilities and competencies, monitor and report performance against goals, and drive continuous improvement to deliver world class EHS performance.

The scope of this position includes the following transportation modes:
• On-road and off-road transport via Light and Heavy Vehicles (including multi-passenger transport vehicles such as a van, minibus, bus, or coach)
• Self-propelled mobile construction equipment used for lifting, load handling, excavating, grading, towing, or similar activities
• Road transport of products, materials and cargo by air, rail, or water

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of processes and standards to systematically identify safety hazards, assess risk, and implement risk reduction measures to achieve fatality-free operations
  • Aligns and integrates EHS transportation program requirements with the GE Vernova Management System.
  • Responds directly to requests from the Business Units (BU), works directly with BU EHS Leaders and other functional leaders, providing expert advice, interpretation, coaching and mentoring.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver work process improvement opportunities.
  • Works with the BUs to perform gap assessments and develop mitigation plans as required.
  • Intervenes where appropriate to ensure personal safety risks are managed appropriately.
  • Reviews and evaluates standard requirements deviation and implementation extension requests from the BUs.
  • Monitors the health of the transportation safety program through metrics, KPI’s and trend analysis.
  • Recommends strategy, tactics and/or interventions required to improve program performance.
  • Leads development and deployment strategy for driver training and EHS function competencies related to transportation safety.
  • Benchmarks internal and external performance to identify improvement opportunities
  • Actively seeks and shares learning from internal and external sources with the BUs.
  • Serves as GE Vernova representative on external NGO’s such as International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS), and the National Safety Council (NSC), among others.
  • Develops relevant audit and self-verification protocols to assess transportation program performance.
  • Participates periodically in audits of BUs.
  • Participates in the investigation of transportation events.
  • Works collaboratively with Fleet Operations to implement telematics/IVMS and supports Fleet Operations initiatives.
  • Works with the Security Risk and Crisis Management team to ensure physical security and geopolitical risks are managed appropriately, worldwide.  
  • Provides input to transportation contractor qualification criteria and participates in review process as needed.
  • Works with Sustainability team for issues such as human rights, vehicle emissions, carbon reduction, electric vehicles, etc.

The salary range for this position is $195,000 - $275,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least September 29th, 2025.
