Project Description:
We are developing 4 Java-based APIs that form the backbone of a large suite of applications used by Tesco store and office colleagues. These applications aim to replace traditional paperwork and fully digitalize everyday operational tasks, improving efficiency, accuracy, and user experience across the business.

You will be responsible for
Role Responsibilities:
As an SDE3, you will own the entire application lifecycle, including:
- Requirements Gathering - Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- System Design & Architecture - Designing scalable, secure, and performant APIs.
- Implementation - Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Testing & Quality Assurance - Ensuring high reliability through automated and manual testing.
- Deployment & Monitoring - Managing releases, monitoring performance, and making necessary optimizations.
- Support & On-Call - Providing production support and participating in on-call rotations.
You will work in a high-collaboration environment, engaging with product owners, business analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions. While the primary focus is backend development, front-end experience is a plus, as we aim to evolve into a cross-functional team in the future.

- Languages & Frameworks: Java 17+,Micronaut, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
- Data: PostgreSQL
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, Azure
- CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube
- Testing: Selenium
- Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Runscope
- Version Control: Git + Github
You will need
- 6+ years of hands-on experience delivering high-quality applications.
- Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
- Fluent English with clear and concise communication skills.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar.
- Proven ability in system design and architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in owning projects end-to-end and providing technical leadership.
- Capability to define technical direction and set the vision for a project.
- Previous involvement in mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers, fostering their technical growth.
- A proactive, self-driven attitude with a focus on delivering value
