Position Summary
A Paint Technician 2 role consists of any activity associated with troubleshooting equipment problems safely, quickly and efficiently. The technician will need to understand and operate all paint equipment. This includes new profile introductions, performing AMs & PMs on schedule. Auditing Painters and system. Creating, documenting, and auditing new standards. Understand and measure paint quality including resistivity and viscosity. Training of Technician1.
Primary Responsibilites
- Able to complete all responsibilities of Tech I position proficiently.
- Able to assess a situation and determine if an issue is machine related or process related and take corrective action.
- Provide first level troubleshooting assistance to paint line operators during down time events.
- Responsible for rebuilding critical worn equipment (spray applicators, regulators, flow meter & etc.).
- Complete PMs, make minor equipment adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Advanced knowledge of product, processes, and quality
- Use critical thinking to troubleshoot and solve problems related to quality and equipment operation.
- Work with the supervisors, leads, engineering, and maintenance to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in and support projects that are driven by business initiatives.
- Provide training, instruction, and guidance to production associates & Paint Tech I.
- Audit Painters and operators.
- Analyze corrective action requests created by Quality Inspectors.
- Identify and communicate appropriately when electrical/mechanical/technical support is needed.
- Maintain and develop back-up parts and supplies.
- Help transition and qualify new materials, processes, and profile applications as well as rack design.
- Actively participate in root-cause analysis using PDCA thinking for any non-adherence to standards.
- Identify opportunities for error proofing and implement solutions.
- Promote a hands on, high involvement approach to problem solving.
- Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies.
- Participate and sustain 5S activities.
- Create job process aids.
- Periodic quality checks and standard work audits.
- Participate in kaizen events and sustain improvements made from those events.
- Attend and participate in appropriate training and development programs.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision or management
- Assists crew lead and supervisor with the training and development of entry level and senior level operators.
Qualifications And Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience with paint applications.
- Strong prioritization and multi-tasking capability.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Strong aptitude in problem solving and process improvement.
- Strong computer skills – Windows, MS Access, MS Excel
- Proficient of all skills and knowledge required of a Technician I position.
- Equipment maintenance experience.
- Ability to articulate problems and solutions verbally.
- Ability to read & comprehend written instructions, process procedures, and drawings.
- Ability and skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing stressful situations.
Compensation
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $45,760 - $66,352

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
