Duties & Role:
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct full walkthroughs of all Technical Rooms (TRs) within CSU's remit.
- Record, document, and label all relevant network and infrastructure components.
- Create and maintain a validated dataset of CSU-owned equipment in PatchManager / CableSolve.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency between physical assets and database records.
- Identify and document CSU's power and cooling requirements for each TR, based on the deployed equipment.
- Provide CSU leadership with structured technical input to support the drafting of the RSLA with the local customer.
- Support CSU leadership in audits, reviews, and reporting.
Tasks / Responsibilities

- Record all switches, including serial numbers, model, rack position, and port assignment.
- Document additional CSU-owned infrastructure components (routers, firewalls, patch panels, racks, CSU PDUs, CSU UPS units if applicable).
- Perform visual inspections and ensure technical rooms are orderly and accessible.
- Apply consistent labelling to all recorded devices and ports in line with IMS standards.
- Create and maintain a clear LOC ID structure for all racks and equipment.
3. Database Maintenance
- Enter and update collected data in PatchManager / CableSolve.
- Correct incomplete or inaccurate database entries.
- Produce regular reports for IMS leadership and Configuration Management.
- Cross-check physical assets with database records.
- Identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits.
- For each TR, derive power and cooling needs from Agency's installed equipment (e.g. total power draw, redundancy expectations, approximate cooling capacity required).
- Identify CSU dependencies on customer-provided services (normal/backup power, UPS, generator, CRAC/HVAC, monitoring).
- Document CSU's minimum service expectations (e.g. uptime, response times in case of outage, monitoring/alarming).
- Provide CSU leadership with a consolidated requirements report to serve as technical input for the RSLA.
Deliverables
- Validated dataset of CSU-owned switches, racks, and infrastructure components in PatchManager / CableSolve.
- Proper labelling of switches and CSU-owned technical equipment across all TRs.
- Comprehensive LOC ID list and updated inventory reports.
- Requirements baseline for power and cooling per TR (as input to RSLA).
- Technical input report detailing CSU's expectations for RSLA discussions with the local customer.
- Regular progress and quality reports to CSU leadership and Configuration Management.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Vocational training at a higher technical level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent, or Diploma of secondary education, with 5 years post-related experience;
- Experience in Network Infrastructure;
- Experience working in an infrastructure maintenance environment;
- Experience in Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Graphics Presentation, E-mail clients/Web Browsing and MS Visio.
