Your Role at KIK

The VP of Product Development, reporting to the President of the Household Division, will drive innovation and growth across KIK Consumer Products’ North American Household portfolio. This role leads new product development, product renovations, and cost/performance optimization to strengthen both private label and branded businesses. It’s an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our portfolio and expand our market impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serve as a strategic partner to accelerate growth in laundry, dish care, cleaners, and bleach products
  • Define product strategy and technology roadmaps to deliver data-driven, innovative solutions for branded and private label customers
  • Lead the Household Product Development team to shape future business architecture and product capabilities
  • Build and develop a best-in-class product development organization that drives portfolio growth and business results
  • Champion KIK’s product vision across the company, acting as a key ambassador with internal teams and customers
  • Partner with Product Management, Quality, Packaging, Sales, and Operations to ensure alignment and continuous feedback
  • Foster a culture of innovation, challenging the status quo while honoring and advancing KIK’s culture
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on go-to-market strategies and execution
  • Identify new opportunities, drive experimentation, and stay ahead of industry trends
  • 10 or more years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods product development, ideally in household cleaning
  • Knowledge of household, surfactant, enzyme, fragrance, and specialty ingredients industries strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with lab practices, testing methods, and third-party testing labs
  • Understanding of laundry detergents, fabric softeners, dish detergents, cleaners, and bleach a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to Household Business unit to accelerate the growth of our product portfolio  in laundry & dish care products and cleaner & bleach business. 
  • Set the strategy and establish the technology product roadmap and product portfolio to achieve world-class, data-driven, and innovative solutions that deliver business results for KIK's customers while building leading-edge technology at scale for our brand & private label customers.
  • Lead KIK's Household product development team to define the future business architecture strategies and technology capability models across our branded & private label products offerings.
  • Continue to develop the existing team and build a best-in-class organization of product development leaders to drive the development of KIK's product portfolio to meet our business objectives.
  • Communicate the company's product vision across the organization, serving as a key ambassador and educator of the product development strategy and mission to key stakeholders including customers
  • Serve as a partner to the Product Management, Quality, Packaging, Sales and Operation teams to ensure internal alignment and a consistent feedback loop.
  • Cultivate an environment that challenges the status quo and promotes a bias for change and action, all the while respecting and celebrating KIK's company culture. Instill and advance a product culture based on innovation.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team of the household division to influence go-to-market strategies and delivery teams.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by identifying new opportunities, driving experimentation, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Success Factors

  • Establish and deliver product roadmap: Bring together an end-to-end North American product roadmap to align with business objectives, position the organization as an integrated group, and efficiently utilize resources.
  • Influence Go-to-Market Strategy and Delivery Teams: Establish a financial view of the portfolio and influence the go-to-market strategy and delivery teams while aligning with the product roadmap. 
  • Serve as a change agent and build strong, trusting relationships while educating the organization about the products. Success depends on the ability to drive change, build a team, and accompany KIK's household business unit growth initiative in the US & Canadian markets for our brand and private label products.
  • What You’ll Bring B.S. Chemistry / Biochemistry / Chemical Engineering or other hard science.
  • Advanced degree in  Applied Science or Science in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Chemical Engineering or other hard science preferred
  • 10 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods development role and/or Household Industry. 
  • Strong experience with developing partnership with suppliers to catalyze product development.
  • Experience with consumer insights and market research.
  • Experience working with external partners.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous self-starter with an established ability to learn quickly.
  • Technically oriented professional with a desire to learn the business implications of technical projects.
  • Job requires travel up to 50% and will include international travel

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Household, Surfactant, Enzymes, Fragrance & Specialty Ingredients industry.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Practices and Procedures.
