As our company expands, you will help strengthen our Legal function, working alongside an experienced Legal Counsel and reporting directly to the COO. You will support our international operations and provide business-oriented legal advice that directly impacts growth. This role will put you at the center of high-stakes commercial negotiations, global compliance, and intellectual property strategy in a fast-paced and international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, software license and implementation agreements, DPAs, and support/maintenance contracts.
- Advisory Support: Provide timely, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders (Sales, Product, Partnerships, Finance) and help balance risk with commercial objectives.
- Compliance & Privacy: Oversee and implement compliance frameworks, draft and maintain global policies, and ensure adherence to data protection regulations (GDPR and other relevant jurisdictions).
- Intellectual Property: Support the management of patents, trademarks, software, and licensing frameworks, while advising on IP protection and enforcement.
- Cross-Border Expertise: Advise on international legal matters and coordinate with local counsel when needed across Asia-Pacific, the UK, Europe, and the US.
- Research & Innovation: Monitor developments in technology law, privacy, and AI regulations, and provide guidance on their impact on Silent Eight’s business.
Key Requirements
- Law degree and legal qualifications enabling practice in Poland (additional international qualifications a plus).
- 3-5 years of experience as legal counsel and/or at a law firm, preferably with exposure to IT/technology contracts.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts in English, including under UK/US/common law jurisdictions.
- Solid understanding of data protection law (GDPR) and experience with DPAs, privacy compliance, and cross-border data transfer issues.
- Familiarity with intellectual property law, software licensing, and SaaS/on-premise agreements.
- Excellent English drafting and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Interest in innovation, AI, and how technology is transforming financial services.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with banking/financial services contracts and AML-related regulations.
- Knowledge of US, UK, or Singapore common law.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across global teams.
