Harper College seeks a full-time faculty member to teach and develop courses in Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing. This position supports innovative programs that prepare students for high-demand technology careers. The Artificial Intelligence/Cloud Computing Faculty member is a full-time, tenure-track appointment responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and student support within newly established AI and Cloud Computing programs. The faculty member will deliver high-quality, learner-centered instruction across credit courses and certificates, foster industry-aligned skill development, and contribute to the growth of innovative programs that prepare students for emerging careers in technology.
- Teach a range of courses in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Analytics, and related areas.
- Design, develop, and update curriculum to reflect current industry practices, workforce needs, and accreditation requirements.
- Incorporate hands-on labs, simulations, and project-based learning that integrate cutting-edge technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Engage students in applied learning opportunities including internships, capstone projects, and industry partnerships.
- Assess student performance through clear learning outcomes and maintain accurate records in compliance with college policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues, advisory committees, and industry partners to ensure curriculum relevancy and alignment with workforce demands.
- Participate in program review, accreditation, and grant-funded initiatives (e.g., Perkins V, ICCB Form 21).
- Provide student support, career guidance, and mentoring to students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring equitable access and student success.
- Engage in professional development to remain current with advancements in AI/Cloud technologies and pedagogy.
- Contribute to departmental, divisional, and college committees, outreach, advisory *BILT) committee meetings, and community engagement activities.
Working Conditions
- • Faculty are expected to teach a standard teaching load per contractual agreement, which may include day, evening, weekend, online, hybrid, or accelerated courses.
- • Faculty are expected to hold regular office hours and participate in student engagement and support activities.

- • Commensurate with education and experience; consistent with faculty contract.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence and/or Cloud Computing (industry certifications may supplement academic background).
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the college level or equivalent training experience in professional/industry settings.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments that support diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TensorFlow Developer).
- Experience in curriculum development for AI/Cloud programs.
- Record of collaboration with industry partners and/or workforce development initiatives.
- Experience integrating experiential learning, work-based learning, or applied research into instruction.
- Familiarity with community college mission and student-centered teaching practices.
