Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Provides individual department specific computer hardware and software support on department business systems including install, configure, apply patches and upgrades, moves and rearrangements, and troubleshoot and perform diagnostics for Level 1 and 2 problems on department specific systems.

Performs analysis and research about department specific applications and new technology, and interprets specifications, and designs modifications of low to average complexity.

Maintains department specific inventories, documents activities, executes and updates procedures.

Confers with department users to define requirements and validate conformance to acceptance criteria.

Coordinates department specific business system implementation with users and departmental personnel.

Assists in integration of desktop, laptops, mobile and other endpoint devices with department specific systems including messaging applications, system integration, management and testing tools, and business specific applications.

Provides through Tier 2 support to department users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop systems.

Recommends procedures and controls for problem prevention, and escalates to Tier 3 support when necessary.

Participates in the testing and evaluation of new desktop and mobile device solutions, and for department specific implementations.

Provides assistance and consultation to department users of computing systems software tools and applications; and trains end users in use of departmental software and business applications.

Attend and participate in mandatory ongoing training, including certifications and annual training.

Supplemental Duties:

Provides software training on department business systems

Coordinates patches and upgrades, moves and rearrangements, and troubleshoots and performs diagnostics for Level 1 and 2 problems on specific applications

Develop effective and efficient operating procedures and workflow management; educates employees on various functions, requirements, deadlines, and changes to Oracle APS system; works with IT to issue tickets and provide additional information for computer issues; provides and attends County training sessions to maintain all system’s updates and changes

Provides assistance and consultation to department users of computing systems, software tools and supporting applications

Supports department webpage, social media, and online enrollment; uploads pictures, schedules, brochures and other events and information; adds upcoming events to calendar; posts news and announcements; enters and maintains information regarding classes and fees; processes registrations, memberships and rentals; runs reports and prints class lists; and assists customers with creating user accounts and site navigation as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or a closely a related field required; two years of progressively responsible, professional level technical support experience in a small-scale Information Technology environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Preferred: Oracle E-Procurement System and various other cloud-based procurement and website content management applications. Professional writing skills and graphic design.

Specific License or Certification Required:  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
