This position will oversee both Healdsburg Hospital, a 43-bed critical access hospital with 24/7 emergency department, and Petaluma Valley Hospital, an 80-bed hospital which offers 24-hour emergency care.
The Role:
Under the guidance of the Chief Administrative Officer, you will operate with significant independence to deliver clinical operating and financial results that align with approved strategic plans and policies. You'll be responsible for:
- Integration Strategy Developer: Craft and implement effective integration strategies for Sonoma County Hospitals, ensuring seamless operations across clinical and support services.
- Financial Steward: Develop and maintain operating and capital budgets, conduct variance analyses, and implement strategic and tactical plans with performance dashboards to track growth, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial targets.
- Collaborative Partner: Work closely with Executive Leadership, Medical Staff, Community Board, and Service Line Directors to identify business strategies and market opportunities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Political Savvy Leader: Build cohesion across multiple teams, leveraging strong integration skills with political acumen to foster a collaborative environment.
What You'Ll Do:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of the hospital’s strategic priorities, initiatives, goals, tactics, and action plans. Adjust resources as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Policy Innovator: Develop department policies and procedures that promote growth in ambulatory settings, enhance organizational performance, and boost patient and customer satisfaction.
- Customer Satisfaction Champion: Formulate, implement, and sustain plans for improved customer and patient satisfaction using Studer, Lean, and Six Sigma principles.
- Operational Manager: Oversee and manage a variety of outpatient, clinical, and support services to drive quality, patient experience, and caregiver engagement outcomes.
- Business Developer: Ensure business development priorities and strategies are integrated into operations, budget, and capital planning.
- Community Relations Builder: Maintain positive relationships with Medical Staff and monitor employee morale, fostering innovation and program growth.
What You'Ll Bring:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Five years of progressive leadership in healthcare business development, strategic planning, and operational improvement, with experience in service consolidation across multiple hospitals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
- Program Development Expertise: Strong program development, management, and leadership skills with political savvy.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare trends, legislation, and regulations affecting hospitals.
