About The Role

The role is central to ensuring the responsible use, allocation and protection of Tasmania’s freshwater systems. The Team Leader will:

  • Lead and manage the Water Operations and Compliance team and its program of works.
  • Oversee compliance activities related to water allocation, water use, dam operations and other water management activities in the State.
  • Foster a safe, consultative, and high performing team culture.
  • Build strong relationships across government, industry and community sectors.

Hours Per Fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable Requirements

  • Diploma in civil engineering, natural resource management, agriculture or water management, or equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in regulation or compliance sectors or water resource management.
  • Certificate in Government Investigations IV or equivalent or ability to attain.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Ability to hold and maintain mandatory training requirements for the position including a Certificate in First Aid and competence in 4-wheel drive operation.
