Lead and innovate in research infrastructure and partnerships for a prestigious Australian Group of Eight research-intensive university.
Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for two years.
Base salary range: $134,288 – $142,099 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About The Area
The Office of Research provides professional and expert support services to facilitate research excellence and knowledge transfer at the University. It is also at the forefront in executing the University’s research strategy. The Research Infrastructure and Partnerships team sits within the Research Enterprise office which is dedicated to responding to strategic research opportunities and driving the University’s research strategy.
About The Opportunity
- Lead and manage a team to develop cross-disciplinary, multi-partner opportunities that fund and utilise world-class research infrastructure at UWA.
- Support strategic planning and direction, negotiate partnership agreements and ensure efficient, sustainable operations cross infrastructure activities.
- Oversee and coordinate UWA’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) efforts, aligning with national priorities and maximising impact. Relationship management of key partners and stakeholders is central to the role.
About You
- A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics discipline.
- Extensive management experience in research environments, leading multidisciplinary teams and complex programs.
- Experience with research infrastructure or large technical programs (ideally including NCRIS or comparable national initiatives) and with a strong track record in strategy, planning and ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice to stakeholders at all levels.
- Adept at navigating research funding ecosystems, negotiating agreements and have ability to build trusted relationships across academia, industry and government
- You pair excellent communication and influencing skills with comprehensive knowledge of higher education policies, governance, compliance and operational best practice, and you maintain a proactive, outcomes-focused approach that delivers measurable impact.
