Our mission at Micrographia Bio is to deliver a new era of drug discovery using spatial proteomics.

We are adding a Research Assistant to our multidisciplinary team that is focused on optical microscopy maintenance and supporting measurements. This role will be responsible for routine sample preparation (cell immunostaining and preparation), conducting cell- and microscopy-based experiments, as well as maintaining and extending the optical measurement systems. The successful candidate will join a world-class team that is united by an intrinsic motivation to develop first-in class technology and new medicines.  We’re looking for people who do brilliant work and 10X the work of the people around them.

You’ll be joining Micrographia Bio at an exciting inflection point, as we are moving from prototype development to standardised operations and its direct application in drug discovery. This role will be at the forefront of product operations, and your work will set the foundation for every aspect of our business.

Responsibilities

  • Regular maintenance and upgrading of optical measurement system (training on customized systems will be provided).
  • Routine sample preparation for assays (mainly immunostaining).
  • Performing experiments in timely manner with high – quality, robust output using our optical system.
  • Reporting results.
  • Identify and report technical issues.

Location And Working Hours

The location for this role will be full time (40h/week) in person in White City, zone 2 central London(84 Wood Lane, Translation & Innovation Hub W12 0BZ).

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficient in and experience with optical laser based systems and optical microscopy.
  • Experience running cell- and microscopy-based assays.
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs. 
  • Experience working in a wet lab (pipetting, buffer preparation, etc.).
  • A desire to learn and develop a career in Biotechnology Research.
  • Strong work ethic and growth mindset to fit into team culture.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and reliability through a systematic approach to work and measurement.
  • Ability to think critically and adapt in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cell and molecular biology.
  • Experience with fluorescent based measurement systems.
  • Experience with unix operating systems and terminal interaction.
