Position Description
A key member of the National Training Center (NTC) team, the Director of Hospitality & Events is responsible for building and leading the programming, sales & service, and hospitality/HQ operations functions of the National Training Center. The role is responsible for the success of all programing from intake to execution, fostering an elite culture committed to ensuring the delivery of world class experiences across all NTC activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Programming & Calendar Leadership
- Translate NTC programming priorities into an annual calendar that balances National Teams, coaching/referee education, member events, donor/partner activations, and 3rd party rentals.
- Maintain the central booking system, inventory rules, blackout dates, and prioritization logic.
Sales & Service (Inbound & Internal)
- Operate an inbound intake pipeline and ensuring a usage mix representing the broad U.S. Soccer ecosystem.
- Represent the NTC at trade shows and industry events to cultivate new business opportunities.
- Qualify inquiries, scope event needs, and communicate timelines and expectations clearly.
- Assist the GM in setting and updating rate cards and event policies, ensuring contracts and compliance standards are applied consistently.
Headquarters Operations
- Oversee the team responsible day-to-day operations of US Soccer’s Headquarters, including reception, supplies, snacks, etc.
- Work with HR to ensure staff suggestions and concerns are heard.
Event Planning & Execution
- Oversee event planning tools, BEOs/function sheets, production schedules, and run-of-show documents for all facility spaces.
- Collaborate with food & beverage vendor to facilitate all catering needs of the NTC.
- Standardize pre-conference, daily operations huddles, and post-event debriefs to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure services such as A/V, streaming, signage, parking, and accessibility accommodations meet the needs of each event while also matching the aesthetic and policies of the NTC.
Hospitality & Front-of-House Operations
- Establish service standards for reception, VIP protocol, and concierge support.
- Lead the Hospitality team to deliver professional, welcoming experiences daily and at scale during major activations.
- Partner with Security and Facilities to balance open, welcoming spaces with high-level access control.
Tours & Volunteer Program
- Build a guided tour program to highlight NTC features, heritage displays, and storytelling opportunities
- Develop a volunteer docent/greeter program (recruiting, training, scheduling) in partnership with HR and Advancement.
Systems, Policies & Standards
- Manage the intake portal, booking/CRM/EMS systems, and event management standards.
- Create playbooks for recurring scenarios (standard operations, FIFA windows, ID camps, tournaments, large events).
- Document policies for member access, hosting protocols, photography/media, and facility tours.
Financial & Performance Management
- Develop and manage the Hospitality & Events budget; forecast staffing and event-driven expenses.
- Track utilization and event performance data; support the GM in developing KPIs and evaluation metrics.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Advancement, Commercial, and Development on sponsor/donor experiences.
- Serve as a key facility liaison to lodging, F&B, transportation, and production partners.
- Represent the NTC with members, leagues, clubs, federations, and local agencies.
Risk, Safety & Accessibility
- Lead the creation of event risk assessments and emergency protocols in partnership with Security, Legal, and Medical.
- Ensure accessibility and inclusive design in all guest-facing services, consistent with U.S. Soccer’s commitment to members and Extended National Teams (ENTs).
People Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and lead the Sales & Service and Hospitality managers.
- Build a collaborative, entrepreneurial, team-oriented culture that reflects U.S. Soccer’s principles and values.
Other

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in hospitality/events leadership at a sports, university, NGB, or multi-venue campus.
- 3+ years managing a team.
- Proven success in client stewardship, event planning, and venue operations.
- Proficiency in Ungerboeck, Salesforce, Momentus, or similar systems.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- General knowledge of soccer.
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting elite sport environments and/or national governing body programs.
- CMP, CSEP, or similar certification.
- Multilingual skills (Spanish preferred).
- Familiarity with ADA standards and accessibility best practices.
- Passion for soccer.
