Job Summary:

The Buyer I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting procurement activities through routine purchasing tasks under close supervision. This position ensures purchase orders are processed accurately, supplier confirmations are tracked, and discrepancies are resolved in alignment with company policies. The individual is expected to exercise limited discretion, with complex issues escalated to higher levels of procurement staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Place purchase orders, verify confirmations, track shipments, and maintain ERP system records.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve simple order discrepancies.
  • Follow established procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide administrative support for procurement activities and reporting.
  • Escalate complex purchasing or supplier issues to senior staff for resolution.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assist with data entry and procurement record retention.
  • Support cross-functional teams with procurement-related administrative tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

Schedule:

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-10 hour shifts, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on workload demands.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 0–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related business role.
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite position with office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing areas.
  • Flexibility to adapt to peak workloads and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
