Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to support our enterprise data warehouse (SQL Server), payroll, CRM, HR, and other enterprise applications. This role will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring data integrity, process efficiency, and successful delivery of technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Support the creation and maintenance of JIRA stories, epics, and tasks with clear acceptance criteria for development teams.

Data & Systems Analysis

• Perform data analysis using SQL to support business decisions and validate data warehouse outputs.
• Understand and document data flows between systems, such as our payroll, HR, CRM and other platforms.
• Identify data quality issues and work with technical teams to resolve them.

Documentation & Communication

• Collaborate with the technical writer to create and maintain comprehensive documentation including: BRDs, functional specs, process flows, and user guides.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Project & Agile Support

• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Support UAT planning, execution, and defect tracking.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and system functionality.
• Recommend enhancements based on data insights and stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with SQL Server databases.
• Familiarity with payroll systems or similar HRIS/ERP platforms.
• Experience writing JIRA stories and managing Agile workflows.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Understanding of payroll, HR, or financial business processes.
• Experience with Confluence or similar documentation tools.
