Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Master Data is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate, timely, and reliable master data, which includes customer, product, raw material, vendor, and other critical data domains for the site operation. The role ensures that the master data supports business processes and decision-making through delivering data quality, adhering to data governance policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Superuser for SAP-PP/MM/WM within SCM, overseeing and supporting master data maintenance to guarantee accuracy and timely inputs through collaborations with various departments.
  • Oversee and manage the overall lifecycle of master data including creation, updates, and deletion of data entries in core systems to uphold data integrity.
  • Support SCM function by ensuring correct setup of master data for logistics, warehousing, production planning, purchasing, sales, and operation planning activities and identify process improvement with SAP systems
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data by conducting regular audits and validations, identifying discrepancies, and taking corrective actions.
  • Provide first-level support for SAP system, validating master data requests and resolving discrepancies.
  • Act as site representative for patch, upgrade release testing with Global teams and all areas that enhance data quality and integrity in alignment with the organization’s business objectives.
  • Provide training materials and coaching end users on master data areas and share best practice and knowledge sharing initiatives across the organization.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and deletion of master data records to ensure data quality and compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate with D&T and other departments to ensure data integration and synchronization across different systems, understand and address their data management requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to enhance data accuracy and reliability.
  • Support the implementation and customization of master data management tools and technologies.
  • Generate and analyze reports on master data management metrics and provide insights for decision-making, which include but not limited to OTIF, capacity utilization, inventory holding.
  • Monitor data trends and predict potential data issues to proactively address them with data owners.
  • Act as site representative to support global or business driven projects, contribute to digital transformation initiatives and perform UAT for new systems or enhancements.
  • Lead and support ad hoc projects and additional assignments by the manager.

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent

Work Experience

  • Min 8 years of master data management experience in manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in master data management tools, ERP systems (e.g. SAP), and data analysis software. Experience in data governance frameworks is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data integration best practices
  • Project management skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Hands-on proficiency in SAP specifically Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP) and Warehouse Management (WM)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize data, metrics, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing and experience in cGMP would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with logistics and production planning concepts (e.g. JIT, MRP, VMI) preferred.
  • Broad range of computer skills – spreadsheet, statistical applications.
  • Facilitation skills to lead meetings, workshops, and discussions effectively.
