Your Team, Your Impact
As a Principal/Senior Staff Engineer at Marvell, you’ll join the Central Engineering business group—the core hub that powers all product lines including ASIC, Enterprise, Cloud, AI, and Networking. Our small but high-impact analog team is responsible for developing ESD solutions, digital and analog IO pads, and ensuring robust ESD/LUP reviews across all IP before tapeout.What You Can Expect
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Analog Design Engineer - ESD to lead the development of advanced ESD protection solutions across Marvell’s IP portfolio. This role demands deep technical expertise in analog circuit design, a strong understanding of semiconductor physics, and the ability to innovate under the constraints of cutting-edge process technologies.
You Will:
- Architect and implement ESD protection schemes for high-speed analog and mixed-signal IP.
- Review circuit and layout designs, perform simulations, and ensure compliance with ESD standards.
- Collaborate with IP designers to mitigate ESD risks while preserving analog performance.
- Develop ESD test structures, analyze characterization results and develop esd models.
- Work on leading-edge nodes including 3nm FinFET and 2nm GAA technologies.
- Contribute to cross-functional design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and validate ESD protection circuits for analog, mixed-signal, and digital IO pads.
- Perform transistor-level simulations and layout reviews to ensure ESD robustness.
- Balance protection requirements with performance constraints in high-speed analog circuits.
- Lead ESD characterization efforts and correlate simulation results with silicon measurements.
- Interface with layout, system, and packaging teams to ensure design integrity.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging ESD techniques.
What We're Looking For
- Education:
- Technical Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 15+ years of experience.
- Master’s or PhD with 10+ years of experience preferred.
- Proven track record of successful ESD designs in volume production.
- Deep understanding of:
- Strong proficiency in:
- Experience in:
- Transistor-level analog design
- Semiconductor device physics
- Analog blocks (regulators, amplifiers, filters, transceivers)
- ESD/Latchup standards and protection techniques
- EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, SPICE)
- Design rules for advanced process nodes
- ESD structure design and characterization
- Debugging and correlating simulation with silicon behavior
