The Corporate Cosmetology Program Director is responsible for program and/or content coordination, curriculum review, administration, and leadership for the assigned program. This position is also responsible for maintaining student records and participating in curriculum development and revision. This position requires knowledge of and adherence to all Institute educational policies and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the administrative and operations of an Institute program, ensuring compliance with Institute, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Manage program goals and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with Campus Directors, Directors of Education, and Regional Director of Education to improve program outcomes.
  • Regularly assess student learning in partnership with faculty and use results to make informed strategic recommendation about curricula (Subject Matter Expert), facilities, technology, and hiring.
  • Assess program faculty composition considering diversity, visibility, and program goals, teaching effectiveness and faculty training/onboarding.
  • Establish and enhance academic and professional networks for the program.
  • Provide insight regarding instructors to appropriate campus personnel related to work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate instructors to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Provides technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program/project activities, as appropriate to program objectives and area of expertise.
  • Assists in producing, developing, advertising, and marketing project(s) and/or product(s) in various media such as print and video; may assist in developing teaching materials, handouts, news releases, pamphlets, and brochures.
  • Provide support for program accreditation with appropriate agencies, in coordination with the Compliance Department.
  • Communicate with other Directors to foster effective use of resources around programs, events, and exhibitions.
  • Assist in supporting the strategic plan for education and curricula 
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with all instructors, across all brands, to discuss curriculum, industry trends, industry resources, placement ability, certification importance and potential changes.
  • Manage the upcoming industry trends.
  • Participate once per quarter, at minimum, in an industry Recognized Association.
  • Participate in supplying details provided to Career Services/Academics for use in the OAC meetings related to their program.
  • Support faculty in their roles as teachers, mentors, and practitioners, and assists with the coordination of advisory board meetings.
  • Review standard materials related to catalog such as: job titles, program, and course outcomes.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the Admissions Department to establish and reach program population goals by developing and implementing relevant and effective student engagement strategies and product knowledge training for assigned program.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and coordinating programs and projects with curriculum.
  • Coordinate with Instructors to assist with projects related to curriculum. 
  • Meet deadlines related to curriculum.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure departmental instructors receive appropriate and consistent professional development opportunities.
  • Provide training at in-service meetings, in the form of breakout sessions.
  • Teach 2 classes each mod, combining different modalities for exposure.
  • Practice excellence in teaching and instruction.
  • Assist in always maintaining Program Completion of 70%
  • Assist in maintaining standard operating procedure student certification goals
  • Achieve and maintain curriculum goals and strategic objectives for the company
  • Work with Regional Director of Education to develop program goals, strategies, budget, and metrics consistent with organization and program missions.
  • Oversees and/or coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.
  • Provide leadership for program assessment, leading audits, and outcome metrics.
  • Conduct ongoing progress evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or in a field related to the assigned teaching and curriculum field highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working at a post-secondary educational institute is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of post-secondary teaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Prior Program Director and/or management experience highly preferred.
  • Cosmetology license
  • Cosmetology Instructor License required
  • Sets goals and oversees clinic floor business
  • Acts as subject matter expert for curriculum, tech, and tools for the Cosmo program
  • Familiarity of learning management systems and Moodle highly preferred
  • Comfortable with delivering content in multiple modalities
  • Ability to host live meetings with a web conferencing tool. Zoom highly preferred.
