Geocgi is seeking an IT Operations Support Specialist to join the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) team at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting NATO’s Core Information Services infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, and collaboration systems. This role requires full participation in agile sprint cycles and a focus on maintaining mission-critical system availability at SHAPE in Mons, Belgium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 3rd-level technical support for NATO’s Core Information Services (Core IS) infrastructure, ensuring system availability and adherence to KPIs.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain virtualization platforms, storage, and server infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Windows/Linux).
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure failover clusters, enterprise systems management tools (SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM), and antivirus systems (e.g., McAfee ePO).
  • Support collaboration services (MS Exchange, Skype for Business) and cloud computing systems (RDS, VMware Horizon).
  • Participate in sprint planning, execution, and review meetings; maintain backlog priorities and track deliverables.
  • Assist with configuration management, service transition, and system documentation updates.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, workshops, and on-call rotations for critical incidents.
  • Provide timely sprint completion reports and status updates in line with NCIA requirements.

The following are requirements of the IT Operations Support Specialist.

  • U.S. Citizen with Active U.S. Passport.
  • Must hold an Active DoD Secret Clearance or DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with: Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and infrastructure failover clusters, Server, storage, and client infrastructure technologies, Enterprise Systems Management tools (SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM), Antivirus management systems (e.g., McAfee ePO), Active Directory, ADFS, and high-availability database systems (SQL Cluster), Email/collaboration services (Exchange, Skype for Business), Cloud computing systems (Microsoft RDS, VMware Horizon).
  • Professional certification in at least one COTS technology (Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, SQL, VMware, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management and configuration management practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and briefing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems proactively.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite at SHAPE, Belgium, including on-call rotations and possible NATO site travel.

The following are preferred of the IT Operations Support Specialist.

  • Experience with web portal technologies and enterprise database design.
  • Knowledge of service transition at scale and release/change management processes.
  • Familiarity with NATO responsibilities, organizational structure, or prior NCIA experience.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Background in supporting multinational operations or military exercises.

The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $95,000-$115,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
