The Opportunity
Are you interested in leading the buildout of large EHV transmission line projects? Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Senior Engineer level candidates to join our Transmission Line team. This position is for a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME) in the design of Extra High
Voltage (EHV) transmission lines, including up to 765kV. This position is open to sit in any location or remote.
What You’Ll Do
Lead the development and design of EHV transmission line projects, from conceptual routing, developing preliminary designs, to full construction packages for new and existing 500kV+ projects. The ideal candidate has experience with EHV design standards, including required clearances, structure selection, lattice tower design, permitting requirements, and conductor selection.
Work collaboratively with project management and multi-disciplinary teams, including electrical studies, survey, right of way, environmental, geographical information systems, and substation design teams to solve complex project challenges and to identify value engineering solutions. Support permitting activities with local, state, and federal agencies by providing engineering input and expert testimony.
Clients will consist of utilities, private developers, and Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) contractors.
What We Expect from You
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- Minimum of 10 years’ transmission line engineering experience is required, 4+ years of 500kV+ design or project management experience preferred.
- PE license required
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, & PLS-TOWER is preferred
- Proficiency in MFAD/LPILE is preferred. Experience with complex foundation systems.
- Expert in the analysis and design of lattice tower structures.
- Experience in the development of EHV standards, including design criteria, material specifications, and structure families.
- Proven track record of leading successful large projects and developing relationships with clients and project team.
- Effectively assists in training and mentoring team members
- Responsible for reviewing project drawings, calculations & specifications to deliver high quality deliverables.
- Demonstrate wide degree of creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and a variety of situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills. Experience providing expert testimony to state regulatory boards is preferred.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) and AutoCAD is preferred
- Highly driven toward team success and professional growth.
- Up to 15% travel required
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $137,700 - $179,000
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
