Job Description
Purpose: Serve as a mentor and trainer to all assigned Project Managers. Set policies and procedures and identify best practices to guide them in the execution of their duties.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior Project Manager within the division, managing sites and portfolios as necessary to ensure proper execution of projects.
- Oversee Project Handover Meetings with the Pre-Construction and Estimating team to ensure your Project Management teams have the necessary information to successfully execute projects.
- Familiarize yourself with customer contracts and assist project managers with their review of contracts in order to analyze scope, schedule, and budget of project.
- Guide project management teams on how to properly conduct both internal coordination and external customer meetings.
- Guide project management teams through the creation and submittals of RFI(s) to gain clarification and details needed for successful project completion.
- As construction activities begin on site ensure project management teams maintain a thorough understanding of required scope, customer timelines, and contractual milestone dates.
- Coach project management teams on productive communication with field leadership to ensure a good understanding of equipment, tools and personnel needs as well as work accomplished and remaining tasks.
- Supervise monthly cost to complete, forecasted revenue, and cash flow forecast exercises with project management teams.
- Coach project management teams through change order, ensuring proper payment for additional scope while also balancing customer relationships.
- Ensure project management teams are appropriately accounting for costs to jobs.
- Attend lessons learned meetings with customers to capture improvements needed for future projects.
- Continuously provide feedback to the Pre-Construction and Estimating team to refine bids.
- Attend “kickoff meetings” and ensure Project Managers are appropriately covering project scope, schedule, benchmarks, and performance goals with field leadership.
- Maintain a consistent schedule of field visits by your project management teams and expectations for those visits ensuring teams are appropriately involved at the field level on all projects.
- In coordination with the other directors, develop and implement PMO standards, processes, and best practices to drive consistency and efficiency across energy projects.
Qualifications
- 3+ Years of experience of overseeing a construction project management team.
- Strong understanding of project financials, cost breakdowns, and construction budgets.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and submerge yourself into the team.
- Flexibility and resilience in handling a dynamic workload.
- Proven success in managing people and providing constructive feedback for the growth of the Project Management teams.
- Proactively seeks out and absorbs shared knowledge, focusing on both the details and the rationale of our operations.

Pay Range: $110,000 to $130,000/year
