Job Description
Ensure that the Bank’s need to provide adequate controls over the risks encountered in the pre and post credit granting stage of the credit process are satisfied by verifying key documents and maintaining tight control over approved running facilities, warehouse & inventory inspection, and monitoring key stakeholders in line with approved parameters.
- Undertaking a comprehensive and robust monitoring, inventory count and other activities of customers related to Collateral Monitoring Unit (CMU) in line with approved sanction.
- Conduct periodic and ad hoc visits / spot checks to review clients’ operations and provide a comprehensive status report where operations are not running as expected, which must include identification of potential structural weakness in clients’ operations. Efficient and timely processing of credit applications and other client instructions in line with business Service Levels Agreements (SLAs) and required Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Develop robust credit operational risk management capabilities to address the risks encountered in the post-credit granting stage of the credit process.
- Review draft Letters of Offer (LOO) on CAMS for structured credit facilities to ensure accuracy, correctness, and practicality of the facility operations dynamics proposed in the sanction prior collateral release of the final LOO to the RMs for printing & client execution.
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with other functions e.g Branches, Business (PPB, BCB, & CIB) and credit evaluation to ensure consistent delivery of service promulgating best practice without conflicting with policies and procedures.
- Drive effective people management & administration practices
Qualifications
- First Degree in Economics, commerce, statistics, and any business-related field.
- Certification/accreditation in credit, risk, or any business-related field is an added advantage.
- Atleast 5 years experience in intuitive credit assessment and decisioning with In-depth understanding of the features, requirements, and operations dynamics of all Bank’s products.
- At least two years of banking operations experience with good understanding of Bank guidelines, procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, diligence & composure in a fast-paced environment with good understanding of rigour/risk management techniques.
- Extensive experience with an excellent track record of managing a dynamic team in an empowered environment. Understanding of legalities associated with lending and collateral
