- Summary:
- Under supervision, assist residents with activities of daily living as well as promotes self-care and independence of the residents.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
- Valid South Carolina Driver's License
Experience:
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
Job Functions:
- Must help with bed making, residents' personal hygiene , and will be responsible for laundering/pressing of residents ' clothing.
- Will assist dietary with taking trays to the table, removing residents' trays when they are finished eating, and monitoring residents ' nutritional requirements.
- Assist with scheduled activities and security for the residents.
- Will be responsible for medication management and administration of medications to the residents as ordered by the attending physicians.
- Ability to maintain proper documentation in the residents ' files/charts.
- Attends in-service education classes as scheduled.
- Will be responsible for the environmental cleaning of the facility.
- Assist with transporting residents for medical appointments and activities.
- Ability to assess residents' mental and physical status daily.
- Knowledge of, and performance of daily responsibilities, according to DHEC regulations 61-84 "Standards for Licensing Community Residential Care Facilities" and the policies and procedures of Springfield Place.
- Has knowledge of all Disaster Plans for Springfield Place and displays ability to be responsible for following appropriate actions.
- Will be expected to work according to the facility's posted work schedule and be willing to assist when additional needs are identified.
- Displays a positive attitude, willingness to assist all individuals, as well as respects the facility, residents, visitors, and other staff members.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, understand, and comply with instructions.
- Good physical and mental health as evident by physical exam and medical history.
- Clean and neat in appearance.
- Ability to be patient, kind, tactful, and understanding of the elderly population.
