Program Manager

Mackson Consulting LLC, an A-TEK Inc. company, is a trusted partner to federal agencies, delivering innovative IT and cybersecurity solutions that protect critical missions and infrastructure. We are seeking a highly qualified Program Manager to lead a mission-focused engagement supporting a federal agency’s public health initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact national programs while collaborating with agency leadership in a dynamic cybersecurity environment.

Position Overview

The Program Manager will serve as the primary contractor lead responsible for program oversight, execution, and delivery. This role requires both technical acumen and proven leadership skills, ensuring the alignment of IT security practices with federal regulations, agency policies, and industry best practices. This role is based on-site, in Washington, DC.   The ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust level clearance is a condition of employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall program management and serve as the principal point of contact with government stakeholders.
  • Supervise contract administration, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Design, implement, and oversee enterprise information security strategies in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Ensure security compliance with NIST, FIPS, FISMA, and related federal regulations.
  • Direct security operations, including incident response, penetration testing, auditing, vulnerability assessments, and documentation.
  • Guide the integration of methodologies such as SEI CMMI and ITIL into program operations.
  • Manage multiple IT security teams across diverse functions and ensure successful delivery of all contractual requirements.
  • Employ agile and adaptive project management practices to meet evolving client needs.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and strategic guidance to federal leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in program/project management, including oversight of IT security functions such as:
  • System auditing and controls assessment
  • Cloud security environments
  • Incident response and penetration testing
  • Vulnerability scanning and risk management
  • Security architecture and engineering
  • Privacy and controlled unclassified information management
  • Strong knowledge of federal IT policy, NIST standards, and FIPS guidelines.
  • Proficiency with IT security processes, tools, and frameworks.
  • Experience with agile and adaptive project management approaches.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 High Risk Public Trust clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $165,000 – $230,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
