About The Role:
As State Manager (QLD), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring Wellways’ services are delivered with excellence, impact and sustainability. Reporting to the General Manager QLD/NSW/ACT, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio including:
- Medicare Mental Health Centres
- Suicide Prevention and Aftercare Services
- The Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub
- Consumer Directed Services
- Youth Care Program
This role is more than just oversight, it’s about building Wellways’ impact in the community. You will represent Wellways at a state level, leveraging strong contract performance into growth opportunities and working in partnership with funders, community organisations, participants and families.
Some Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Ability to drive service excellence and ensure delivery meets participant outcomes and contractual requirement
- Mentor and empower regional teams, fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Build a strong community presence by representing Wellways at forums, meetings and conferences
- Champion growth opportunities
- Promote strong relationships across government, community partners, corporate services and lived experience networks
- Monitor and report on performance, outcomes and impact to executive leadership and the Board
About You:
You bring strategic leadership and operational management experience, ideally within mental health, wellbeing or community services, along with a proven record of building high-performing, connected teams that reflect the diversity of the communities they serve.
Your strong stakeholder engagement skills enable you to collaborate effectively and inspire trust, while your financial and contractual management expertise ensures services are delivered with a focus on sustainable growth. Above all, you demonstrate a values-driven leadership style that is authentic, inclusive and guided by lived experience.
Pre Employment Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, social science, occupational therapy, psychology or related discipline and/ or extensive experience relative to the role
- Experience realising organisational vision, implementing Wellways strategic goals
- Experience leading/ managing diverse teams
- Driver's License
- Police clearance - less than 12 months old
- Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate – free online course
- LCS2 Check – supplied by Wellways
Available to travel and to participate in out of hours activities as required to undertake the requirements of the role
