Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and resilient leader who thrives in unique environments and embodies the spirit of gracious hospitality. The successful candidate will balance the demands of luxury service delivery with the realities of operating in a remote location, while fostering meaningful relationships with the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain strong communication and reporting lines with both the property owner and Minor Hotels corporate office.
  • Build and sustain cooperation with the local community, recognising its integral role in resort operations.
  • Oversee logistics and supply chain management in a challenging island setting.
  • Lead, motivate, and retain a high-performing multicultural team.
  • Ensure full compliance with brand standards, health and safety, and local labour laws.
  • Act as the resort’s ambassador, hosting guests with warmth, presence, and professionalism.
  • Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, revenue management, and cost control.
  • Oversee CAPEX projects, maintaining the property to world-class standards and enhancing services through innovation.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives, aligned with Minor Hotels’ environmental and social responsibility goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a General Manager or senior resort leader in luxury hospitality, preferably in remote or island settings.
  • Strong operational acumen with the ability to balance guest satisfaction, financial performance, and team engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity to thrive in a remote environment.
  • Experience in community engagement and building local partnerships is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Portuguese or other languages will be an advantage.
