Make an impact with our Consulting – Financial Services team as a Director. This role will play a critical leadership role in our national Advisory practice. This position is strategy-focused, with a strong emphasis on helping clients develop forward-looking strategic plans, enhance service delivery, and support mergers and acquisitions. The Director will work closely with Partners across the country and collaborate with MNP Digital to integrate data analytics and agentic AI solutions that enable execution and deliver innovative outcomes.

Responsibilities

Client Strategy and Advisory

  • Lead consulting engagements across the financial services sector, providing strategic insight on growth, service delivery, operating models, and transformation.
  • Partner with executive teams and boards to define strategies that balance innovation, regulatory expectations, and evolving customer or member needs.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans with measurable results.

Mergers And Acquisitions

  • Manage M&A advisory engagements including strategic assessments, due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger execution.
  • Support boards and executives in evaluating strategic fit, governance implications, and value creation opportunities.
  • Deliver high-quality analyses and recommendations that guide clients through complex M&A transactions.

Digital and Innovation Enablement

  • Collaborate with MNP Digital to design and deliver solutions that integrate data analytics and agentic AI into financial services strategy.
  • Use analytics to uncover insights, inform decision-making, and create measurable performance improvements for clients.
  • Apply agentic AI and workflow automation where they enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer or member experience.
  • Ensure digital enablers are practical, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Engagement and Team Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for client engagements, overseeing workplans, deliverables, and project teams.
  • Ensure quality, governance, and accountability in the execution of all consulting work.
  • Mentor and coach team members, building consulting capabilities and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Practice Development and Growth

  • Contribute to the growth of the financial services practice through proposals, thought leadership, and new client opportunities.
  • Develop intellectual capital and share insights on emerging industry trends, regulatory change, and innovation in analytics and AI.
  • Collaborate across MNP’s service lines to deliver integrated solutions tailored to client needs.

Skills And Qualifications

Education

  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; or equivalent industry experience considered.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification considered an asset.

Experience

  • 10 or more years in management consulting or the financial services sector, with strong expertise in enterprise or business line strategy and M&A.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services operations across credit unions, banks, insurance companies, and fintech ecosystems.
  • Experience applying data analytics and digital tools such as AI or automation to enable strategic growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service delivery.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of banking operations, including payments, credit, risk management, regulatory structures, and compliance frameworks within the financial services sector.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage at the board and C-suite level.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects from design through execution.
  • Collaborative leadership style with demonstrated ability to mentor and build high-performing teams.
  • Ability to develop high-quality presentations and intellectual capital, including detailed PowerPoint deliverables, proposals, and thought leadership materials.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $200,000.  Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience, and education.
