The Department of English at Assumption University seeks to hire adjunct instructors for the Fall 2025 semester to teach sections of ENG 130: Writing in the University and ENG 140: Literature and Its Interpretations, required first-year courses. The courses are in-person, and all faculty are required to keep office hours: two hours per class section.

Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department and to our students. They are provided with office space, email, voicemail, and resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching additional courses in subsequent semesters, including upper-level writing and literature courses.

Requirements:

Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.

Applicants should have a master’s degree or PhD in English or in a related field.
