Job Summary:

Homzmart is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounting to lead and oversee all accounting operations across the organization. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting the company’s strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on experience within high-volume, tech-driven environments such as e-commerce or retail.
 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including GL, AR, AP, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors and tax authorities.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, withholding, etc.)
• Work closely with FP&A and other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Implement process improvements and automation within the accounting function.
• Train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff, fostering professional development and team efficiency.
• Provide strategic input and financial insights to support company leadership in decision-making.

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Egyptian tax regulations.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or fast-scaling companies is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP software (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
