Position Overview:
The Senior Regional Director is a pivotal leader charged with establishing, growing, and sustaining fiscally sound, high-quality programs within a designated operational footprint. This role is accountable for driving superior outcomes in their assigned area while leveraging strategic initiatives to shape the agency’s overall performance.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Center Operations, the Senior Regional Director serves as an essential liaison with key internal departments. They ensure the effective implementation of policies, systems, and processes that support operational excellence within the region.
Additionally, the Senior Regional Director is instrumental in pursuing new business opportunities and developing strategic plans that expand the region’s impact, foster innovation, and promote continuous improvement. They are also responsible for developing and mentoring director-level professionals to build a strong leadership pipeline that sustains long-term regional success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans tailored for the region that enhance operational effectiveness, drive continuous improvement, and align with the organization's long-term goals.
- Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to develop budgets, monitor key performance indicators, and ensure financial stability while maintaining high-quality program delivery.
- Ensure all programs exceed compliance standards by staying informed on regulatory requirements, implementing best practices, and leveraging data insights to optimize processes.
- Mentor and support director-level professionals to cultivate a strong leadership pipeline within the region, conducting regular 1:1s with direct reports and skip-level meetings to foster engagement, professional growth, and feedback-driven development.
- Identify new business opportunities region-wide by researching market trends, building strategic partnerships, and piloting innovative programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Partner with department leaders to design and implement efficient systems, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to strategic planning committees.
- Cultivate strong internal and external relationships, acting as a liaison between Regional Directors and the Deputy Director of Center Operations to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Represent the agency at industry events, advisory committees, school districts, and local forums to build partnerships, advocate for organizational initiatives, and strengthen community engagement.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Deputy Director of Center Operations to support evolving organizational needs.
Required Qualifications
- BA degree in Business, ECE/Child Development, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Program Director Permit eligible desired
- 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-site operations, preferably within early childhood education.
- Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring director-level professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS/MA in Business, ECE/Child Development, or related field.

- Adept at uniting diverse teams across departments to achieve shared objectives and drive innovation.
- Comfortable and confident representing the agency at industry events, advisory committees, district forums, and with external partners.
- Relentless focus on achieving tangible outcomes by balancing strategic vision with practical execution.
- Ability to recognize growth opportunities and overcome obstacles using data-driven, tactical initiatives.
- Skilled in leveraging technology to streamline operations, enhance communication, and drive innovation.
- Strong working knowledge of licensing and compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
- Less than 30% of daily assignments involve prolonged physical effort.
- Travel: Up to 80% to assigned centers and community meetings.
Shift Type: Full Time, Exempt
- Compensation: $107,753 - $161,630 annually
