Position Summary:
Weld aluminum parts, working with engineer drawings, adjust welding equipment, apply combination welding procedures, maintain quantity of assembly output, weld together metal parts, components or structure. Must be capable of checking own work and set it up, monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems, move or fit heavy objects, read work orders, instructions, formulas or processing charts, operate hoist which or hydraulic boom, read and understand operating manuals, read specifications
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete welds on Cabinets - Correct robotic missing or incomplete welds. Make visual adjustments to welds and correct any welds that do not meet quality criteria.
- Required to read prints, assemble parts to be welded in a fixture or on flat table, and operate a welding machine.
- Welded parts must not display any weld defects.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Wear proper PPE
- Attend and constructively participate in safety meetings and safety training
- Actively promote safety
- Report injuries to supervisor immediately
- Cooperate with fellow employees and supervisor
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department
- Help other coworkers learn their job
- Participate in problem solving as directed
- Recommend ideas for continual improvement.
- Keep area clean and free from excess clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions
- Understanding and demonstrated performance in managing component parts associated with the job.
- This includes accounting for use, scrap, rework of material as well as identification, proper storage and care.
Qualifications For Internal Candidates:
- High school diploma recommended
- One-year previous welding experience or a technical school certificate or the ability to pass a welder II test.
- Good work record in previous employment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions read and follow prints and routers. The ability to understand quality requirements and to monitor production.
- Possess Basic math skills.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate various pieces of equipment.
- Ability to learn new operations, become cross-trained, and rotate jobs.
