R&D Co-op/Intern; Lab

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated intern with a background in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will assist with materials testing, formulation work, sample preparation, and general laboratory support in a hands-on, collaborative research environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students with strong lab skills to gain valuable experience in a dynamic R&D setting.

For this opportunity, the expectation is to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week in the Libertyville, IL office.

Responsibilities:

• Support formulation development by preparing and testing various formulations under supervision.
• Perform material characterization focusing on physical and chemical property assessments using established protocols.
• Contribute to the development and validation of analytical methods.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, data analysis, and results.
• Help maintain laboratory equipment and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines to ensure proper lab operations.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience through coursework or academic projects.
• Strong interest in materials characterization and formulation development.
• Familiarity with basic lab techniques and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. The actual salary varies based on applicant's, education & skills.
