Job Summary

A Quality Inspector II is responsible for conducting quality inspections (which can include testing) on materials, components, and products. Success in a Quality Inspector II role will be defined by, but not limited to, identifying nonconformities and defects, and supporting internal efforts to meet Phoenix Contact’s quality standards and processes. The Quality Inspector II is the second level within the Quality Inspector career path.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and leads all adjustment, change, and rework activity.
  • Analyzes disposition data and provides recommendations for proper corrective and preventive action.
  • Supports all inspection activities including incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products and documentation meet all internal/external standards and customer requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains quality standards.
  • Reads drawings and specifications to ensure internal standards are met.
  • Recommends necessary adjustments and changes to internal processes.
  • Uses test and measurement instruments for testing and inspection purposes.
  • Reports and documents products that do not meet internal/external standards and recommends strategies to improve product quality.
  • Reports and documents the acceptance or rejection of incoming and/or finished products and discusses inspection results with relevant individual(s) and/or group(s).
  • Performs inspections using random sampling plans.
  • Determines and executes dispositions in a timely, economical manner and reports and documents corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned by one’s Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology or another technical discipline preferred
  • 3 (+) years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability communicating and working effectively with others.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Quality Inspector Certification (CQI) preferred
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for four hours at a time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Regular and on-time attendance
