Job Description
Purpose of the role:-
Test engineer to develop and optimise test software and hardware to optimise and improve production processes with high focus on test time, yield and test coverage, Design, implementation and optimisation of test equipment and software for testing of product software and hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up of new test equipment and implementation in production.
- Develop new test programs for upcoming new products.
- Test and evaluate new equipment to help improve test methods in Kostal Ireland.
- Monitoring and reviewing of yields across production lines and the recommendation and implementation of yield improvements.
- Regular monitoring and reviewing of cycle times across all production lines and the recommendation and implementation of cycle time improvements.
- Control of software using version control software.
- Development and implementation of new innovation projects.
- Investigate and implement potential test time reductions and process optimisation.
- Verification of test coverage on KOI products.
- Proactively demonstrate your responsibility for health, safety and environmental (EHS) issues among your team, as well as their well-being, ensuring your team also accepts their individual responsibility for such matters.
- Adherence to environmental procedure and reaching Company environmental targets essential.

- Basic programming skills. Visual Basic, C, Java or Python software knowledge an advantage. Other software knowledge also advantageous.
- Good electronic circuitry knowledge required.
- High level of debug skills.
- Good project management skills.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, LIN etc.
- Knowledge of electrical measurement using oscilloscopes and DMM.
Qualifications
Degree in Electronic / Computer Engineering (NFQ Level 8)
