The Product Compliance Specialist serves as a liaison between Daiso USA, , and multiple internal departments to ensure products meet U.S. compliance standards. This role is heavily focused on FDA-regulated products, including food and cosmetics, and is responsible for managing product recalls for Daiso USA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with GLQC, Japan Buyers, Daiso Industries, and U.S. teams to resolve compliance issues preventing product launches or sales in the U.S. (60%)
- Review and analyze food products and labels for U.S. market eligibility. (10%)
- Evaluate cosmetic ingredients, labels, and test results for compliance with U.S. regulations; work with manufacturers and Daiso Industries to make necessary adjustments. (10%)
- Manage FDA and state-level cosmetic product listings and delistings. (5%)
- Oversee and implement product recalls for Daiso USA. (5%)
- Draft and translate compliance guidance documents for Daiso Industries regarding U.S. policies and regulations. (5%)
- Handle special projects and assignments as directed. (5%)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of U.S. food labeling and ingredient regulations

Strong Translation Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the cosmetic industry, including MoCRA regulations and ingredient use
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply complex U.S. laws and regulations related to Daiso products
- Native business-level proficiency in English and Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Skilled at analyzing and interpreting product testing results
- Ability to independently identify issues, develop solutions, and manage long-term projects
- Advanced computer and technical skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Education & Experience
- Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience, including:

Translation Work
- Food label creation and compliance with U.S. food regulations
- Cosmetic industry compliance experience, including MoCRA
- Product testing and product recalls
- Experience applying government regulations to consumer products
- Relevant cosmetic certifications (required)
- Supervisory Experience: 0–1 year; not responsible for direct supervision or performance management
