About The Position
This global role within the Regulatory Affairs team is pivotal in shaping the future of regulatory practices across Flora Food Group. This is a development role where you can grow in a global, FMCG business and strong Regulatory function. This role requires cross-functional collaboration and technological innovation to support teams worldwide, with a particular focus on Emerging Markets.
- Global Enablement & Support: Act as a central regulatory resource, supporting regional teams across Developed and Emerging Markets. Provide direct guidance and tools to ensure consistent compliance and global knowledge sharing.
- Develop Regulatory Affairs skills: provide advice to the global Flora Food Group business on a range of Regulatory matters and work closely with R&D, Nutrition, Legal, Marketing and other business functions.
- Technology-Driven Transformation: Lead the development of intelligent regulatory platforms using AI and other advanced technologies to capture, manage, and apply regulatory knowledge efficiently.
- Future-Proofing Regulatory Practices: Design scalable systems and processes that anticipate regulatory changes and enable proactive compliance across all markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emerging Markets Focus
Supporting the Regulatory Manager, Emerging Markets, provide direct regulatory support for innovation and product compliance in the AMEA region.
Act as a bridge between global strategy and local execution, ensuring Emerging Markets are equipped with the tools and insights needed for success.
- Platform Development & Integration
Build and implement new regulatory platforms that serve cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Marketing), leveraging AI and data science.
Collaborate with external IT partners to design user-friendly, intuitive tools tailored to regional needs and global standards.
Ensure systems are adaptable to local regulatory nuances, especially in Emerging Markets.
- Knowledge Capture & Systematization
Collect and structure internal and external regulatory knowledge (e.g., local regulations, internal policies).
Integrate this knowledge into a centralized, searchable database accessible to global teams.
Promote knowledge sharing and alignment across regions through training and onboarding.
- Compliance Oversight & Horizon Scanning
Continuously monitor and interpret global regulatory developments (FDA, Codex, EU, local authorities).
Ensure timely updates to internal systems and practices, with a focus on:
- Food category-specific regulations
- Labelling requirements (legal names, nutritional info)
- Nutritional and health claims
- Plant-based and naturalness criteria
- System Maintenance & Team Enablement
- Maintain and audit existing regulatory compliance systems.
- Train and support R&D and cross-functional teams in system usage and regulatory interpretation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and digital literacy within the Regulatory Affairs team.
- So what does it take to be successful in this role?
You are a highly qualified professional with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Food Science, or a related field. With a minimum of three years of experience in Regulatory Affairs —ideally within a global or multi-regional context—you bring strong analytical and interpretation skills to your work. You are well-organized, experienced in project management, and fluent in English, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Your passion for technology and innovation is evident, and you possess a mindset that is geared toward digital transformation, always seeking new ways to drive progress within your field.
