Job Summary
The Sr. Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role within the Risk team, representing the 2nd Line of Defense and supporting the Company's enterprise-wide risk management framework. This position will be accountable for end-to-end risk ownership within their designated coverage area, with a pronounced focus on Operational and Business risk. This role is instrumental in the development and enhancement of analytical processes that support sophisticated risk measurement and aggregation of critical risk information and will also assist with the design and delivery of comprehensive risk management reporting, ensuring meticulous oversight and approval of data inputs and assumptions.
Organization
This position reports into the Operational Risk team and will collaborate with all members of the Enterprise Risk Management team.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments across various business units to provide strategic insights that support the achievement of business objectives and procide Board and Committee reports that encompass risk indicators, risk assessments, trend analysis and identification of emerging risks.
- Develop and maintain risk dashboards, metrics, and key risk indicators (KRIs)
- Support the identification and reporting of operational loss data
- Support the preparation of risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures
- Support enterprise risk programs as needed, including Policy Governance, Incident Management, and Business Resiliency.
- Assist business units with Business Impact Assessments (BIA's) and business continuity plans
- Monitor emerging risks and industry trends that may impact the organization
- Support regulatory compliance activities including ORSA, NYDFS, etc.
- Support internal and external risk reporting needs, including 10K, rating agencies, and other committees
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, IT, compliance and business units on risk-related initiatives
- Assist with tracking and monitoring of risk acceptance and mitigation plans
- Assist with ad-hoc analytical needs
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of risk management experience in audit, enterprise risk or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business Management or related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships across the organization
- Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to accurately analyze data to identify trends and anomalies
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with a results-driven focus
- Strong organizational and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, AuditBoard or other GRC systems
- Ability to effectively utilize artificial intelligence to supplement and enhance work products
- Knowledge of life insurance products and regulations
- Understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies

- Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Limited travel may be required (up to 10%)
