Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a skilled Project Account-Cost Analyst to support San Diego International Airport.

The Project Accountant – Cost Analyst I is responsible for managing and analyzing financial aspects of project contracts. This role ensures accurate and compliant processing of contractor and consultant invoices, maintains detailed records of payments, and supports financial reporting and auditing efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of contract terms, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and vendors.

  • Review contractor and consultant invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Audit invoices to ensure correct rates, proper documentation, and compliance with contract terms.
  • Code and process invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.
  • Maintain historical records of payments, contract amendments, and reimbursable expenses.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 2 years of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Drug/alcohol test will be required for this position.
  • Motor Vehicle Check will be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, and the following minimum amount of experience that is closely related to this position.
  • Five years of related experience
  • Knowledge and experience with accounts payable and general cost control and reporting.
  • Capable of reviewing invoices for proper coding and contractual conformity.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and techniques is preferred.
  • Proficient in using Excel.
