You might join us in Global Markets, Risk and Finance Audit, Credit Risk Audit, Investigation, Professional Practices and Governance or Audit Analytics. But wherever you are, your work with clients from around the world drives innovation and makes audit an artform.

What you will be doing

Strategic Management

  • Proactively support the respective group portfolio leads and country functional leads in driving Group Audit’s strategic initiatives and direction within respective portfolios/ functions.

Deliverables Management

  • Lead or participate in group-wide and regulatory audits in the respective areas of markets and products, risk and capital, or finance, and ensure that they are completed within the planned timeline.
  • Proactively support the respective group portfolio leads and country functional leads in executing the audit plan using reasonable resources.
  • Plan group-wide and regulatory audit engagements, including audit planning, scoping and risk assessment.
  • Provide regular and prompt updates to the respective group portfolio leads and country functional leads on the progress of the audit engagements and the issues identified.
  • Assess and evaluate the Group’s governance, risk management and internal controls over the activities and processes carried out by the business, risk and finance units, and ensure that their deficiencies are appropriately identified and adequately assessed.
  • Prepare and/or review the workpaper documentations and ensure that they can support the assessments made in the audit engagements.
  • Prepare audit report that communicates the audit outcome, opinion and issues in a concise and easy to comprehend manner.
  • Take the lead to explore and implement initiatives in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of conducting audits through the use of audit and data analytics.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage the auditees proactively to communicate the identified issues during the audit engagement and work with them to agree on the appropriate remediation actions and timeline.
  • Proactively support group portfolio leads and country functional leads in providing advice to the audit stakeholder, as the trusted advisor, on control assurance in the respective areas of markets and products, risk and capital, and/or finance.
  • Proactively support the group portfolio leads and country functional leads in providing audit or advisory support to internal stakeholders within Group Audit, as subject matter expert, on control assurance in the respective areas of markets and products, risk and capital, and/or finance.

People Management

  • Proactively support the group portfolio leads and country functional leads in leading, motivating and managing the audit team to ensure they have sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to execute the audit plan and provide advice to audit and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively support the group portfolio leads and country functional leads in hosting guest auditors to provide them learning opportunity for better understanding of the audit process.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements (at least one of the following three areas):

1. Markets and products

  • Understanding of the front-to-back trade and sales lifecycles, treasury and investment processes, valuation and reserving processes, and corresponding controls.
  • Understanding of various asset classes including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and derivatives.
  • Knowledge of regulations relevant to sales and trading activities, including market misconduct risks such as insider trading and market manipulation.
  • At least eight years of experience in auditing the above-mentioned areas.


2. Risk and capital

  • Understanding of the processes of managing the capital, balance sheet, market risk, credit portfolio risk, counterparty credit risk and sustainability, and corresponding controls.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements, including the related HKMA SPMs, Banking (Capital) Rules.
  • Knowledge of the measurement/ quantification of the financial risks and corresponding validation of the risk models.
  • At least eight years of experience in auditing the above-mentioned areas. 

3. Finance

  • Understanding of the budgeting and planning processes, finance and tax processing and operation processes, and corresponding controls.
  • Knowledge of banks’ statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • At least eight years of experience in auditing the above-mentioned areas.

Others

  • Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Preferably, qualification in CIA or CPA.
