We are seeking a Senior Manager of Data Strategy to lead data management and governance for the FP&A organization. You will partner with various stakeholders across the business, including Data Engineering, Product, Sales Strategy, Finance, and IT to build a single source of truth for operational data and management reporting. This serves as the foundation for data-driven decision making that help drive growth for Databricks. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in business operations with a deep understanding of data management principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a single source of truth that will serve as the foundation for operational and management reporting and the basis for BI tools and GenAI.
  • Standardize and document key metrics and data definitions across the organization.
  • Partner with Sales Strategy and GTM Planning to understand organizational design, role types, account structure, and segmentation. Ensure data compatibility and consistency across systems and teams.
  • Develop and implement a strong governance framework and access controls.
  • Support SOX governance implementation in a manner that is compatible with operational needs and the cadence of the business.
  • Lead the intake, requirements gathering, and prioritization processes to onboard new ingestion pipelines, datasets, and metrics.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, finance, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and practices, including data governance, quality, and architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and analysis
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python
  • Knowledge of data structures and ETL
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate effectively with engineering and IT teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and drive business outcomes

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with data management technologies such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data governance tools
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and architectures
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
  • Experience leveraging GenAI tools in a professional setting

Pay Range Transparency

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
