Meet Our Systems Engineers!

Our systems engineers provide definition and structure to the challenging nature of developing safe, reliable autonomous systems. They are involved in every step of the development process, from conceptualization to deployment. Hear from some of our system engineers to learn what brought them to Applied Intuition and what’s kept them here.

About The Role

We are seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Infotainment Systems to join our Vehicle OS team. In this role, you will design and architect advanced infotainment systems that deliver seamless user experiences across touchscreens, voice interfaces, gesture controls, and augmented reality displays. You will work at the intersection of systems architecture, user experience design, and real-time embedded software to create scalable, responsive, and safety-compliant HMI solutions for our software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform.

At Applied Intuition, You Will:

  • Design end-to-end HMI system architectures that support multi-modal interfaces including touch, voice, gesture, and gaze-based interactions across multiple display surfaces
  • Develop graphics rendering pipelines and display management systems optimized for automotive-grade SoCs with real-time performance constraints
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to translate user experience requirements into system-level technical specifications and performance targets
  • Work closely with middleware architects to integrate HMI services with POSIX-based embedded systems and AUTOSAR Adaptive platforms
  • Define data flow architectures that enable seamless integration between infotainment systems and vehicle telemetry, navigation, and ADAS data streams
  • Implement robust resource management strategies for GPU, memory, and compute resources to support concurrent multimedia, navigation, and connectivity applications
  • Develop testing frameworks and validation procedures for HMI systems, including user acceptance testing, performance benchmarking, and hardware-in-the-loop validation
  • Create comprehensive system documentation, interface specifications, and traceability matrices to support integration with OEM-specific customizations

We'Re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems engineering with focus on graphics, multimedia, or human-machine interface systems, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics
  • Hands-on experience developing infotainment systems for automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Android Automotive OS, QNX, or similar real-time operating systems for multimedia applications
  • Knowledge of automotive infotainment standards (Android Automotive or AUTOSAR Adaptive) and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and their role in vehicle data integration
  • Experience with touch controller integration, input event handling, and multi-touch gesture recognition systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to optimize system performance under resource constraints

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo MagicDraw for system architecture documentation
  • Knowledge of voice recognition, natural language processing, and conversational AI integration in automotive contexts
  • Experience with cloud connectivity, over-the-air content delivery, and edge computing for infotainment services
  • Background in user research, usability testing, and human factors engineering for automotive interfaces
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles for automotive HMI systems
