Snapshot
Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google DeepMind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.
About Us
Google DeepMind is building its flagship applied AI team in APAC, headquartered in Singapore. We are seeking a foundational technical leader in an external facing role for this new venture. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a world-class engineering team that will deploy our latest models into 1 P and 3 P products.
This team will partner with Google's lighthouse enterprise customers and government clients in APAC to solve their most complex challenges using DeepMind's most advancedAI models. This role requires a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader motivated to tackle challenging technical problems and drive the technical direction for facilitating novel use cases using Google's most advanced generative AI models.
The Role
This is a hands-on role requiring a unique blend of systems architecture, product strategy, and deep technical expertise with AI. You will be responsible for two primary objectives that form a powerful dual mandate:
Drive Lighthouse Wins: Personally lead the technical strategy in engagements with C-suite executives to identify and deliver "art of the possible" AI solutions. You will architect novel systems, guide your team in deploying cutting-edge models, and create scalable playbooks to be handed off to the Google Cloud organization.
Inform Foundational Model Development: Act as the crucial bridge between the market and our core research teams. You will distill messy, real-world feedback on model performance and deficits into actionable insights that directly influence the roadmap for Google DeepMind's next generation of models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Technical Visionary: Build and lead the Applied AI engineering team in APAC, fostering a culture of rapid innovation, technical excellence, and hands-on building.
- Co-Lead Lighthouse Engagements: Collaborate with Product Management to personally lead the technical strategy in C-suite engagements, architecting novel solutions for the most complex challenges faced by strategic customers and government bodies.
- Create the Playbook for Scale: Design and build repeatable solution architectures and playbooks to be handed off to the Google Cloud organization, enabling broad market impact.
- Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive deep collaboration across product management, GDM research, and Google Cloud teams to deliver integrated, cutting-edge solutions that meet evolving enterprise needs.
- Shape the Future of Gemini: Act as the crucial bridge between the market and our core research teams. You will translate messy, real-world feedback on model performance into a concrete R&D agenda that directly influences the roadmap for Google DeepMind's next-generation models. Your team’s findings will be the proving ground that helps define what we build next.
