Overall Purpose
Strategy at VaynerMedia provides a crucial perspective on business dynamics. We are a human-centric, culture-obsessed discipline where we dive deep into audience insights, media trends, cultural shifts, and tech innovations that inform our strategic recommendations. For this specific role, we are looking for a visionary VP of Strategy to lead our most high-profile work for Corona, the official beer sponsor of the Global Olympics.
This role requires a leader who can master complex, multi-market social media campaigns. You will navigate a highly-regulated alcohol category and a complicated global interagency structure. You must be comfortable working with diverse, multi-cultural audiences and senior-level stakeholders to build a winning strategy that not only aligns with Corona's global vision but also connects authentically with local markets.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
- Lead Global Strategy: Partner across a complex, global interagency structure to create and foster a unified strategy for Corona's Olympic campaign. Your work will inform everything from audience insights and creative thinking to innovative media plans and best-in-class execution.
- Navigate Complex Dynamics: Comfortably navigate corporate and global political dynamics, "code-switching" to communicate effectively with different client and agency partners from various cultures and countries.
- Drive Social-First Execution: Compose briefs that inspire creative teams to produce social-first content. You will leverage a deep understanding of platforms, algorithms, and cultural trends to ensure our work earns attention.
- Influence and Persuade: Direct the strategic development of client presentations, delivering clear, compelling, and persuasive communications to all senior-level stakeholders, including VaynerMedia leadership, global clients, and external agency partners.
- Lead with Empathy: Accountable for leading and mentoring a team, while also serving as a student of the business. You must be able to navigate sensitive conversations with senior leaders and peers, fostering a culture of trust and high-quality strategic output.
- Identify and Grow: Attend client briefings, interrogate the brief to diagnose "internal motivations," and actively seek new business and organic growth opportunities within the Corona portfolio.
Experience/Knowledge Required
- 12-20 years of experience strategically building brands at a top agency for Fortune 500 clients, with a focus on global, multi-market work. Must have experience at the intersection of business strategy, consumer insights, and digital behavior in grounding big, purposeful ideas.
- Experience in social media campaign execution is non-negotiable, with a close understanding of platform dynamics, algorithms, and how to create culturally relevant content.
- Proven ability to work in highly complex, global interagency structures and with multiple audiences from different languages and cultures.
- Comfort and interest in working on alcohol brands or other highly regulated industries. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with these categories.
- Proven leadership experience with a "student mindset," recognized for the ability to balance mentorship with a willingness to learn and adapt. You must be able to influence people at all levels of an organization and foster strong cross-functional teamwork.
- Deep analytical skills with the ability to review qualitative and quantitative research and behavioral data to draw and interpret compelling insights.
- Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative in identifying business opportunities, discerning a clear path forward, and acting swiftly.
Unsure if you meet the qualifications? We are always looking for talent which will continue to cultivate an inclusive and representative team that will enhance our perspectives, skill sets, background, and behaviors. We encourage those who are passionate about what we do to apply!
- Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
- Employer-sponsored 401k with match
- Medical, Dental, and vision coverage
- Unlimited PTO
- Caregiver (Parental) Leave
- Health and Wellness benefits
