Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability

We are looking for a Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability to provide key research and detailed analytical support for ESG (“Environmental, Social & Governance”) initiatives aligned with Rexford’s long-term ESG goals. As a key member of the Rexford Industrial ESG team, reporting to the Director, Sustainability, this newly created role will be responsible for providing extensive support on ESG reporting requirements.

The most successful person will have previous experience working in a real estate organization and knowledge of applied data science and analytics. They will apply their strong background in data management, data auditing, and trending analysis in support of the sustainability performance reporting. They will work in an integrated and collaborative manner with cross-functional teams throughout the Rexford organization to support ESG initiatives (Design and Construction, Property Management, Leasing, Legal and Acquisitions, Finance and Accounting) as well as with external partners.

Location: Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA (Brentwood)

Responsibilities:

• Perform key research, data collection, and detailed calculations and analytics in support of ESG initiatives aligned with Rexford’s long-term ESG goals and reporting requirements (e.g., GRESB, GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB)
• Collect data and prepare reports required for benchmarking submissions to local and state agencies
• Administer data reporting systems, processes, and procedures, including ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and development of enhancements to existing and new data platforms
• Assist in the financial analysis of sustainability-related projects and climate risks
• Identify and implement ways for managing ESG data and reporting efficiently and effectively
• Support the implementation of Science Based Targets and Net Zero commitment roadmaps (i.e., monitor and quantify the success of implemented initiatives)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, finance / economics, business, sustainability, or related field
• Minimum 3+ years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education, preferably in a real estate organization and/or ESG/sustainability-related role
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (g., MS Excel, Smartsheet) and ability to quickly learn new software
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create compelling presentations and convey complex and innovative concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Energy Star Portfolio Manager, utility authorization and property benchmarking processes highly regarded

Compensation

Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives. The expected hourly rate range for this role is $33.00 to $45.00, with a 10% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.*The actual hourly rate and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final hourly rate and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.

*These stock grants are subject to approval by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, are currently subject to vesting over a four-year period, with 25% of the grant vesting per year, and require continued employment on the grant date and each applicable vesting date.
