Citi is looking for an Associate to join its Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in Australia. The ECM team works in partnership with the Advisory and coverage teams to advise public and private companies, entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors to originate, structure, execute, and syndicate equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on capital raisings, block trades, convertibles, and other equity-linked financings. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by facilitating equity capital formation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure, and execute equity capital market transactions
  • Conduct comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research and trading analysis
  • Manage and mentor Analysts by providing detailed guidance and feedback
  • Drive workstreams as the key intermediary between seniors and analysts
  • Develop and prepare presentation materials and other content for clients to deliver advice and address their strategy and equity capital market needs
  • Liaise with multiple internal and external parties to manage and execute several projects simultaneously and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Play a critical role in helping the team deliver equity and equity-linked solutions to clients leveraging full spectrum of the bank's capabilities
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years' relevant work experience within ECM, corporate advisory, markets, or a related area
  • Familiar with equity capital markets deal structures and a track record of ASX deal execution
  • Strong corporate finance, analytical, business communications skills (both written and verbal), with exceptional multi-tasking and time management ability
  • Exceptional teamwork skills with the ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders in other lines of business
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, resilient, and able to work independently with attention to detail and personal integrity
  • Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential / sensitive information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
