Job Summary

Responsible for preparing calculations and payments for the Company. Maintains work papers for prepaid and accrual accounts, as well as entering monthly journal entries. Assists with the internal and external audit process as needed. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • ​Review general ledger to ensure accuracy of P&L and balance sheet; recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Research and explain forecast and budget variances for monthly P&L leadership reviews.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly actuals reporting to key stakeholders across the business unit.
  • Partner with accounting and finance teams across Comcast to streamline recurring processes and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with annual budget planning and monthly forecasting for assigned departments.
  • Review projects and contracts to determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Research contracts and regulations to calculate payments to regulatory authorities accurately.
  • Ensure balance sheets are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger; investigate variances and recommend adjustments.
  • Enter monthly journal entries with appropriate backup documentation.
  • Analyze financial statements for operating trends and variances to forecast, budget, prior month, and prior year.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyze data for management review.
  • Research complex accounting data to support new policy implementation.
  • Develop automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and recurring journal entries.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize accounting processes.
  • Serve as the primary Accounting Operations business partner for Comcast Business stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly accruals for assigned departments.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
