Your Role At Clorox:
The Senior Corporate Counsel – Licensing & Product Marketing partners with cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic partnerships, innovation, and brand expansion. This role leads trademark licensing and marketing transactions and provides solution-oriented product marketing counsel to select business units. Reporting to the Senior Director of Legal - Business and Product Marketing, the role may include management and supervision of a paralegal.In This Role, You Will:
- Lead negotiation and drafting of trademark and other IP licenses, including inbound/outbound brand licenses, joint development agreements, and strategic alliances.
- Partner with Clorox’s Office of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships to structure and execute strategic licensing deals.
- Draft and negotiate complex marketing agreements, including co-branding, promotional partnerships, sponsorships, endorsements, sweepstakes / contests rules, and digital content deals. Provide legal guidance and ensure compliance with company policies and practices.
- Support due diligence for potential partners and new business development ventures.
- Collaborate with brand, innovation, R&D, and finance teams to support partnership initiatives,
- Serve as legal advisor to business units and marketing teams, applying strong business acumen and a generalist, solution-oriented approach.
- Translate business strategies and goals into clear legal documentation for new channels, technologies, and alliances.
- Identify legal, regulatory, and reputational risks that may impact product launches, marketing campaigns, product formulation, packaging design, and more.
- Advise on false advertising standards and substantiation requirements for marketing claims, as well as regulatory considerations for foods, drugs, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and registered disinfecting products.
- Oversee paralegal review of marketing materials.
What We Look For:
- JD and Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institutions.
- Member of the California State Bar or eligible for in-house counsel registration.
- 10+ years of legal experience, including business counseling and licensing transactions; advertising/marketing law experience is a plus.
- Experience in a top-tier law firm and prior in-house counsel experience preferred.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate license agreements and complex commercial contracts; skilled at streamlining contract language for clarity and impact.
- Familiarity with trademarks, brand enforcement, and licensing.
- Experience advising on legal risks, business strategies, and product launches; CPG industry experience preferred.
- Understanding of digital media and e-commerce ecosystems is a plus.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to connect cross-functional dots.
- High integrity and ethical leadership.
- Strong communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage outside counsel for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
- –Zone A: $153,700 - $309,000
- –Zone B: $140,900 - $283,300
- –Zone C: $128,100 - $257,500
