Job Description
General Summary:
The Internal Communications specialist focuses on Employee Experience & Storytelling at Vertex. This role supports cross-functional teams - helping plan and execute internal campaigns to support key business partners, crafts engaging content that brings company culture to life, and contributes to key employee events while helping to manage digital platforms and metrics. This role also supports the External Communications Team on external reputation-building through contributions to external stories, brand reputation monitoring and award submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration, Campaign Development & Execution
- Lead the planning and delivery of internal campaigns that support functions, including HR, DTE, Strategic Sourcing, Occupational Health, the Vertex Foundation, Culture and Values, Facilities and Opps, External Communications and the Events Team.
- Support communications for pipeline programs working closely with the Manager of Internal Comms.
Strategic Storytelling, Content Creation & Reputation Support
- Translate complex or technical topics into accessible, engaging narratives in partnership with business and content leads.
- Develop compelling internal content highlighting employee voices, celebrating culture and values, telling the story of our business strategy and pipeline.
- Contribute to external reputation lift through storytelling that extends beyond internal audiences, monitoring brand reputation themes, and supporting award submissions.
- Support enterprise-level communications including initiatives like the end-of-year Sizzle Reel and By the Numbers.
- Partner with the Senior Manager of Internal Comms on the evolution and growth of Vnet, including the migration to AWS and beyond.
- Manage the creation and distribution of Vertex This Week and Vcast Weekly Update by planning/developing weekly content, while contributing to process improvements and fresh ideas on content and quality.
- Lead the digital and elevator signage process.
Event Support & Engagement
- Support internal events, including All-Employee Town Halls, Vertex Outstanding Contributor Awards Program (VOCAP), Family Day, Week of Service, and Bell Ringings, including planning and event prep/day of support.
- Ensure event messaging is consistent with the internal brand voice and drives employee engagement before, during, and after events.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Track story performance and engagement metrics working with Senior Manager of Internal Comms, developing and presenting monthly and quarterly insights.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with digital employee communication channels
- Ability to work cross-functionally, provide strategic advice and influence
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Education And Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Communications related field
Typically requires 2 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:
$80,000 - $120,000Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
