Role

The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This individual will have a strong Technical and Accounting background, experience working within the Financial Services industry. The position involves preparation of monthly NAVs for different hedge fund clients.

Major Duties

  • Review of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries for Fund Administrator
  • Report and analyze financial data to be disseminated to Fund Administrator’s clients and their investors
  • Generate estimated performance returns
  • Close monthly books and records of the funds to generate final performance figures
  • Preparation of Operating expense entries, Balance Sheet and Income statement.
  • Calculation of Incentive Fee and Management Fee
  • Prepare financial statements for funds
  • Interact with clients and other Hedge Fund Administrator teams to obtain understanding of funds’ activities
  • Consistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the use of technology
  • Escalate issues that fall outside normal resolution timeframe

  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
  • Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas, the incumbent is responsible for, are organised and controlled
  • Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
  • Reports to TL

Skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment
  • Good understanding of the basic accounting principles and procedures, familiarity with the Financial markets and instruments
  • Strong problem solving skills, detailed and results oriented.
  • Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write Business correspondence
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
  • Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional manner
  • Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards
  • Time management skills

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4-6 Years of work experience in a Financial Institution
  • Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plus

Eligibility:

24 months as Senior Analyst to move as Technical Coordinator
